Everything You Never Wanted To Know...

...About Creepy Query Girl.  I haven’t done an awards post in forever so here I am. Since most of the awards require sharing seven facts, I’m going to try and get that out of the way before presenting the trick'or' treat bag of blogger goodies.  All you have to do to grab an award from the bag is comment!

Without further ado, Things You Never Wanted to Know About Me:

1.My parents wanted to name me Christopher Robin if I was a boy.  Yes, I am serious.  And thankful we avoided the whole situation.

2. The only thing that I’ve ever had an allergic reaction to is the red dye found in a lot of processed foods.  I found this out when dye from a fireball candy got on my skin and made me break out in hives my sophomore year of high school. But the same thing happens if I get ketchup on my face.  Does this stop me from eating either of these foods? You would think but No.

3. My feet seem to be the temperature regulators for my entire body.  If my feet are too hot, my whole body is too hot.  Same thing if they’re too cold.  I’m barefoot throughout most of the year (while in my house.  I don’t, like, go out for jogs around the neighbourhood barefoot like those weird caveman sports extremists)  and only wear socks in the dead of winter.

4. I don’t listen to music on purpose.  Like, I don’t own cds or watch MTV or have any kind of play lists.  BUT I do like to have the radio on while I’m in the car which brings me to my next tid bit:

5. For some strange reason, I prefer to listen to hard core Hip Hop and R&B with the occasional rap while driving alone in my car.  I’ll turn it up until the windows are trembling and sing along.  Call it nostalgia.  In any case, I pretty much look like the creepy lady in the minivan from 'Suburgatory' to any of the conservative French drivers expecting to see someone who looks like 50cent pull up to their side.
Yeah- that’s totally me.

6. When I get anxious, I cover my ears.  Whether it’s a scary/sad/suspenseful scene in a movie or the ‘big game’ France-Italy, whenever something’s got my adrenaline going, you can be sure my ears are covered.  My husband finds this totally weird.  Especially when his friends are over and they’re like ‘why is she covering her ears?”

7. I put soy sauce in my scrambled eggs.  Don’t knock it ‘till you tried it.

Okay, now for the awards given to me by the wonderful owners of the following blogs: LTM at That's Write,  Miranda Hardy, All About Growing up and Becoming a Famous Author, Mainewords, Angela Brown, Catherine Ensley, N.R. Williams, Jodi Henry, Jaded Love Junkie, Meandering in a Field of Words, Hold On to Your Bloomers.  If I missed anyone, please let me know so I can add you!

Take only one now and no pushing!:)

 Have a great Wednesday everybody!

There's actually some great French hip-hop, but now I have to ask: Do you prefer Biggie, or Tupac?

Laura Pauling said...

Okay, maybe I should just call you Christopher. :) I can't believe parents would do that to a child. Maybe they were just joking.

The covering the ear thing is a bit weird, but I imagine it could always entertaining :)My feet are the same way. My hubby often accuses me of being dead when my feet turn to ice...maybe I am and just don't know it!

My daughter can't wear socks either. She'd wear flops in January if I let her. Congrats on all your well deserved awards.

Christine Rains said...

Wow, someone loves Winnie the Pooh! My feet are the same as yours. I have big thick socks for the winter and I go barefoot a lot in the summer.

I do the rap thing while driving, too. You can catch me tapping the steering wheel in time to the beats and flashing my interpretation of gang signs. The kids in my hood think I'm a nut job. LOL

I lived in Bridgeport until I was 14, so I'm well versed in 90's rap and hip hop. Regulators and Notorious Bone Thugs, anyone?

I love being barefooted. I only stopped walking to the local shop with no shoes on when my daughters wanted to copy me and I was worried they would tread on something.

Also, I'm going to try soy sauce and scrambled eggs :-)

I think it makes sense to cover your ears, especially if you're really tuned into sounds. But then, I'm a musician so . . . my ears are kind of sensitive.

My 20-month-old covers her ears when she's upset. I think it's because she doesn't like hearing the word no, but maybe she's just like you. Anxious. Hmm. Interesting.

And I'm so going to have to try the soy sauce thing. Sounds good to me.

I love Hip Hop, R&B music too! So "here's to the freakin' weekend. I'll drink to that!"

As a kid I broke out in hives after eating maraschino cherries. The doctor told me it was the dye. I've never had that reaction again, but I avoid cherries of all types out of habit.

Covering your ears when you are nervous is cute. I put Worcester sauce in my scrambled eggs.

My mum wanted to give me a different name too. Luckily, I think my dad convinced her otherwise. What's the other name? Not telling ;).

I'm opposite to you with music. I love CDs / playlists, etc., and hate the radio.

I have that same reaction to redish pinkish sweet tarts. And I love old school rap too! Eazy E anyone?

Christine Fonseca said...

Dude! I'm Christine because of Christopher Robin!!!

Congrats on the awards.

With your "I prefer to listen to hard core Hip Hop and R&B with the occasional rap while driving alone in my car. I’ll turn it up until the windows are trembling and sing along" now that must be hilarious to see their reactions.

I'm going to try soy sauce on my eggs just so I can knock it :).

Soy sauce on eggs? Hmm. I'll have to try it. I love syrup on eggs. :)

I have a friend who covers her ears like that during scary movies. We're all like, "You can still see it, and that's way worse." It's cute :)

I love going barefoot, too, I just wish it would stay warm enough around these parts so I could do it year round :)

Soy sauce on scrambled eggs!! Yay! I have mine with marmite! double yay!

Huge congrats with all your fab awards!! Take care

Hahaha, I like all those random things about you! The covering your ears thing totally cracked me up.

Thanks for the Halloween candy! :)

I totally get the foot/body temp thing... and my sibs are allergic to red dye too, I don't think they've stopped eating ketchup or red cool-aide either. As far as the soy sauce... I might have just barfed in my mouth.

Hart Johnson said...

Fun facts! Congrats on all your awards! My hands and feet lead, too... and I am a loud music gal, but a metal head instead of a hip hop girl.

Johanna Garth said...

I love the hard core hip hop too but now as the kids get older I have to be a little bit more careful about the unedited versions!

Dawn Ius said...

Hey Chris, er, Creepy, my stepdaughter enjoys soy sauce on everything...including her eggs. Ew :-)

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

That's a lot of awards!
You don't own any CD's???? I have over a thousand plus albums downloaded from iTunes (another three hundred perhaps?) and I can't imagine no music.

Cathy said...

You have a super fun blog, and deserve all the awards!

Vicki Rocho said...

Such great information! Ewww to the soy sauce and I have to tell you that my son also covers his ears when stressed, so you're not alone.

Karen M. Peterson said...

Hip Hop is what makes ME cover MY ears.

Those were some fun facts!

Angela Brown said...

Those are some cool facts, definitely random to say the least :-)

Crystal Pistol said...

I like Hip hop too. But I prefer hot sauce on my eggs.

Christopher Robin?? That's just mean... :)

Miranda Hardy said...

I'm not too sure about that last one, but I love soy sauce. Maybe I'll try it. lol

I listen to everything in my car, but I mainly love fast pace music. The faster the music, the more my foot stays on the peddle. Who knew. lol

Jessica Bell said...

I've lost track of all the awards I've been given :( I'm such a BAD award receiver!

Emily R. King said...

Soy sauce in eggs sound great, and Christopher Robin? Thank heavens you turned out to be a girl.

LTM said...

LOL! Wow, girl! You held onto that one a LOOONG time! :D Has it been a year? No, I'm only teasing. I'll be looking for that fellow to pop up again~

As for your answers--I do that too! W/the hip hop. And I'm totally the neck person for temp regulation. If my neck is cold, I can't stop shivering... And me, too! Again on the red food dye. I discovered my problem w/red jello. :D

I think your "quirks" are adorable! :)

OMG you gave me an award! That's awesome. Thank you.
I tend to rock out in my car. My air drums are pretty great.
I'm also barefoot the majority of the time, but I live in So. California so that's not unusual.
Thanks again!

OMG, I did NOT get an award. My bad for not reading closely. LOL. It's late, I'm tired, and I have school tomorrow. Goodnight. Thx for mentioning me anyway.
