Bloffee on the Beach

So it’s been awhile since I had everybody over to my place for Friday Morning Follower’s Bloffee.  Since the weather in Paris has been oh so beautiful this week, I decided to change the setting for our usual location. (I needed to get away from French people wearing tights under their shorts, or sports shoes and business suits for their early morning jog.)

So today we’re having breakfast on the beach.

All you have to do to participate in Friday Morning Bloffee is:
1.- Comment and let us know what you’re bringing for breakfast.  Today I’m having not one, but two cups of coffee and a couple butterscotch macarons;)
2. - Click on someone in the comments section you don’t know and check out their blog.  Voila! A potential friend and follower connection has been made!

So, this week has been full of ups and downs but I’m happy to report it ended on a high note with two full requests for the revised version of KISSING FOR COFFEE. (Up until this week it wasn't getting any nibbles and I was so discouraged.)  I know by now that this really isn’t much. But it does make me feel a little less like a big fat-failure-phony-pants so I’m enjoying the high while I can.

In the words of the great Sean Paul -

Hold on to da dream, hold on.
Hold on now now.
Hold on and believe.
D’Oh  we already won,
We still hold on.

How was your week?  Any ups or downs to report?

I'm bringing Hunger Games excitement! WHOOT!! Oh, and french vanilla creamer. :D

I actually had success this week. Finished one ARC for review and almost finished another. Reworked the first 80 pages of my YA manuscript, and it was warm enough outside for me to actually take a walk. Nice.

Bloffee time at the beach.

Sweet.

I'm bringing fresh fruit and orange juice.

Congrats on the nibbles for your manuscript. Every little bit is worth celebrating.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Coffee is a food group, right? I'll bring lots of coffee and a smile, since I'm shy and this is my first time attending.

I'm so happy to hear about your requests! Best of luck. NEVER give up on your dreams. I was able to meet chick lit author Jane Green, and I loved what she said to me, so I'll share it with you. She said,

"All it takes is one yes. So you keep going until you get it."

I kind of made it my unofficial motto :)

Just plain coffee this AM. I've been on vacation all week and I'm just too tired to make anything else! I need to get back to work so I can rest. :)

Have a great weekend!

Congratulations on your requests! I'll bring my delicious matzah granola I'm looking forward to making very soon. It tastes great at any time of the year, not just during Pesach.

I've been doing a lot of work on something I've decided to expand from a long piece what was mostly flashback and backstory into a full manuscript about a Dutch teen boy who eventually joins the partisans and later becomes an official soldier. I'm hoping to query this within a few months, and am feeling very positive about this manuscript's prospects, esp. since I think it's going to be under 100,000 for once!

OK, so it's early afternoon, but I did have coffee and vanilla yogurt for breakfast. My healthy streak ended at lunch with a cookie:)(ok, 2 cookies)
Congrats on the fulls!

I'm arriving way late, so I'll bring a cocktail!

This week's "up" was turning in my revised manuscript to my editor.

This week's "down" occurred the next day when I didn't know what to do with myself because I already turned the manuscript in to my editor.

:P

Heading now to find someone I don't know on the comment list.

I'm late for breakfast- but that's normal for me. I gulped coffee and stuck a muffin in my mouth as I set about my day.

Thanks for the breakfast invite- hopefully next week I will be on time (like before dinner).

Two full requests? Amazing. Let's hope this leads to something more.

And this side of the world I'm always way too late for breakfast, but there is no wrong time for fresh croissants with bacon.

I always have high fibre bran cereal with low fat yogurt and fresh blueberries or raspberries but sometimes it makes me hang close to the bathr

Just read this and I'm so excited for you! Amazing how quickly things can turn around in this crazy writing endeavour.

I've read so much about macarons (on the Paris Breakfasts blog), but those French pastries look a bit more up my alley. I love the beach, but I'd love to sit in a cafe in France for awhile, too! Cappuccino sounds good to me right about now!

Sorry I'm late to the party but I've got raspberry scones, in case anyone's still hungry.

I have family in town for Spring Break so my house is utter chaos. Thanks for the bloffee! (love that word too) :)
