I Survived Y2K

So Wednesday’s post got me thinking about all the crazy predictions for December 21st, 2012 and I thought maybe it was time we share our own predictions:

What do you think will happen?

Um, nothing. Probably.

What do you hope will happen?

Hmn. I’m rooting for either  aliens making contact with our planet.  (And it’d be cool if they all look like a young, well-muscled Brad Pitt, too)

OR

We all wake up and discover we can telepathically move things with our minds. (In all honestly, I’ve been hoping for this to happen since I was twelve.)

What do you think/ hope will happen on December 21st, 2012?

Sometimes you just have to try and move your brush with your mind. Or the remote. You know, if it's just out of reach.

I think nothing will happen, but if step-pyramids start shooting out of the earth, I may change my mind :)

I'm all for your predictions. I've been hoping to move things with my mind all my life. So far, nothing. I could definitely deal with young Brad Pitt aliens.
I think that day will come and go that any other day. (At least, that's what I've been telling myself.) *starts digging to make a bunker in the ground*

I'm rooting for the Brad Pitt look-alike aliens. Picture that.

Alien - "I come in peace."

Girl - "Great! Now take me home with you."

Um, I'm guessing that you must be talking about the Mayan thing...I'm hopelessly out of touch. (My kids remind me of that all the time.) In any case, I hope that good dark chocolate becomes a calorie negative food. And that my coffee will make itself every morning. Kinda pathetic, but that's what I'd like.

Hmmm...honestly, I think certain things might happen but we wouldn't even know it because we aren't as smart or tuned in as the Mayans. :-) I would LOVE to be able to move things with my mind! Happy weekend!

We'll wake up in a panic, worried the world is ending. Then we'll realize there's only four more days until Christmas and really come unglued.

Maybe a War of the Worlds kind of thing but the aliens win? Oh - or maybe the aliens drop us someone cute like ET and he has a virus that takes us all down overnight?

I actually think the guy making the calendar got tired and said, "Enough already."

I'm with you in thinking nothing will happen. It's interesting to read what others may think.

If you're right about the aliens, that's really going to suck for us dudes.

I hope everything anyone has ever said comes true.

Because, let's face it, that's better than waking up in 2013 and going to work.

Something WILL happen, but most won't even notice.

What I hope will happen is that I wake up and discover the best way to lose weight without exercise or threat of loosey-goosey skin due to rapidly dropping 100 pounds overnight.

What I'm sure will happen is I'll get up, force myself out of bed, check to make sure the Christmas gifts haven't been found by the Chipmunk, then go to work. Real exciting huh?

I kinda love Alex's option.

Omg ... gorgeous Brad Pitt aliens ... that has made my day! I won't be able to concentrate on work now!

I think the earth will split in two and swallow us whole! Either that or a massive sun flare will scream down to earth to bring us sweet relief!

Bahaha! :D

I like your predictions! Maybe we could make chocolate calorie free too!

What I hope: Everyone around the world will wake up and start being nice to each other for a change.

What I think: I will wake up thinking "Oh crap! Only four days to Christmas!"

Nothing will happen. The leap year extra day wasn't instituted until well after the Mayans so by the Mayan's calendar, it's already well into 2013.

I am all for mind reading!

Honestly? I'll have my annual glass of Bailey's and go to bed.

What I'd like to see happening is that we all wake up forgetting how to be mean :-)

My thing is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Think positive.

December 21, 2012 -- I will be counting the minutes to dismissal while trying to control my class with a whip and a chair.

If the Brad Pitt aliens arrive, that might be a pretty good distraction, as long as news videos aren't blocked by our school firewall.

Much like Y2K, a whole lot of panic about nothing. I think the world will continue to turn. Although it would be nice if suddenly we could read each others minds. Definitely a plus in my deaf world. (Hugs)Indigo
