And yet you continue to stare across that border and keep trying, hoping one day you’ll find a well-dug hole you can wiggle through or a gaping tear in the chain-link fence that separates you from the land where traditionally published dreams come true.
So, of course, when one of your comrades-in-arms makes it through to the other side, it is a HUGE cause for celebration; Not only for the author themselves, but for every one of us still here on the other side. Through their success, we know that 1- it can be done. And 2- one of the good ones has made it through. Thus our traditional dream is reaffirmed.
Today is one of those awesome occasions where our blogosphere is coming together to celebrate Writer's Ally aka SA Larson blogger Sheri Larson’s successful leap into the realm of the represented! She recently signed with agent Paula Munier of Talcott Notch Literary and is holding an incredible Bigger Than a Shopping-Mall Giveaway! Critiques, free books, swag and fun paraphernalia are all up for grabs in the form of three raffles by rafflecopter:
Giveaway #1 a Rafflecopter giveaway
Giveaway #2 a Rafflecopter giveaway
Grand Prize Giveaway (for this, you must be entered in either #1,#2, or both)
a Rafflecopter giveaway
For those already-published authors out there, what did YOU do the day you got an agent or first held your book in your hands? How did you celebrate? And for those like myself, how do you think you’ll celebrate making it over your biggest publishing hurdles? Champagne on ice? Dinner out? Online contests or festivities? All of the above?:)

So very excited for Sheri! And you describe the journey so well to get to the goal.
I do remember that feeling, Katie. And it's not a great feeling but use it to work harder! I know one day, we'll be celebrating with you! Because I've seen samples of your writing! Congrats to Sheri!
Such great and wonderful news for SA Larsen!! Yay!!! You next lovely Katie!! Take care
x
Congrats to Sheri! That is encouraging for us all!!!
Thanks for telling me about all goodies. Can't wait to enter to win.
I can't wait to hear what happens next for Sheri.
When I finally get the big exciting news, I'm going to have sushi with my husband. I could now, but I'm too lazy (busy) to drag my butt downtown to do that. I have other plans too. :D
I love how you asked how others did/will celebrate their writing achievements. It's funny, because I never intended to have such an elaborate celebration. But the response from our amazing writing community was intense. So much so that I thought offering something like this could help others promote themselves and their work, too! Sharing my cheer can help others share theirs as well!
Thank you for being one of my fab writer buds. You truly are a treasure!
So excited for Sheri! It's so awesome to see a fellow blogger make it through! *fist pump*
As for me, when I make it, ALL OF THE ABOVE. As well as gobs of chocolate. :)
Very excited for Sheri!
Keep looking for that hole, Katie. You'll find it.
She's everywhere today.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly

CONGRATS to Sheri!
I love the war metaphor. Nicely done to you and Sheri!
Yup, big big congrats to Sheri for her newly agented status! I hope the book sells.
I'm planning on a great dinner out with my hubby when I finally land an agent. I'm hoping it's soon. :-)
Congratulations Sheri! When I got my first publishing deal, I'd just been made redundant from my job of 12 years and my partner had just had her 12-week scan for our daughter, so I celebrated by not having a mental breakdown!! Then we had a celebratory meal that night, and I had a beer or two :o)
I'm so excited for Sheri! It is hard to get out of the queries (I'm in there right now). ;)
What great news for Sheri! For me it was a nice bottle of bubbly when I signed with my agent! A book deal will probably get the same treatment :-)
awesome analogy! And I LOVE how everyone just came out and jumped on celebrating with Sheri! I love this group! ((hugs)) <3 xoxo
