All the Cool Kids Are Doin' It...

Took me long enough.  I believe I’m actually candidate #294 on the link list.  (I know-holy crap!) Basically you have to post something new every day in April (except Sundays).  Each topic reflects a letter of the alphabet in order.

Now, I know that I’m probably going to fail this challenge miserably.  To tell you the truth, my blog is starting to give me naked-in-front-of-the-blogosphere-holding-a-blue-ribbon nightmares.  I wake up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and think ‘oh crap.  What am I going to blog about today?’  Then I pray inspiration strikes.  Most times it does.   Other times…not so much.

In any case, after lots of thought, I knew I couldn’t pass up the A-Z this year.  You see, a year ago this April, Creepy Query Girl was born.  I remember wandering around like the bald, bleary-eyed newbie that I was, attempting my first comments, clicking the ‘follow’ button until my finger developed abnormal twitchiness…

And most of the blogs I frequented at that time had a common theme.  They were ALL doing the A-Z challenge!   Capitalized letters were busting through the seams of Googlereader.  It was everywhere.  The posts were original, funny and often pulled out of one’s ass.  But that’s what makes it so great!

So, for the month of April, I’m setting down my binoculars and pink camouflage agent-stalking outfit in favor of a quill pen and some old-school ABC’s.

Das right.  Going back to the root of all – cause you know…letters are like the atoms in matter, forming together to create something different every time, with like, it’s own genetic code.

*ahem*

Sorry.  Just feeding my analogy addiction.  It’s a long road to recovery.

Anyways, for those interested in the challenge, you can check it out at Misadventures in Candyland here.

Be there or be square.

Cool. Looking forward to reading your posts. I've been so busy writing poetry for the A-Z challenge for the month of April, it's actually cut into my blogging time. Talk about ironic.

I realize this is completely off topic, but you have the best pink hair of anyone yet. I mean look at the detail!

Wow, I can’t believe that challenge has close to 300 participants. When I signed up, I was number 52 and I thought that was a big one.

I can't wait to read everyone's a-z's! =)

I'm one of the 200 some too...I wasn't nervous about it until I read your post ;)

You can do it! I had so much fun participating this year that I decided to help host this year and I have a feeling that the list is going to keep going!!!

I choose to leave it open ended in April... it's like every day is a fun day of silly things!!!

I signed up, too, though I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to manage 30 posts in 30 days, never mind the whole alphabet thing. How do you say good luck (to both of us) in French?

I met so many witty and interesting writer/bloggers from that challenge last year. Let me tell you, it isn't hard until you get to Q or so.

I began my blog last year a few days before the April challenge! I didn't know what was going on. Blogfests and things were totally foreign to me at that point, lol. But nearly a year later I'm up to speed and can't wait to participate in the challenge!

Cheers to this April and pulling random posts out of our... you know! ;)

FYI, the word verif is REAR. I'm not even kidding. Bizarro!

I'm there! Nice to have you on board.

Yay for you! They asked me to do it, and I just couldn't commit. Who knows what April will be like?

Love the pink on the sidebar!

Awesome Sauce!!

You can use that for A if you want.
Good luck, and I'm sure you can do it!

I am passing on this challenge. Not only am I going on a week's vacay with family to California this April -- woo hoo! But the weeks preceding the vacation will be parent-teacher conference hell. (I am lucky enough to experience it on both sides of the table.)

I'll be lucky if I get my normal 3 posts a week up, and I'll probably have to coerce the family members into helping out with guest posts.

Coerce ... a good C word.

Well, we'll see if you fail. Hope you don't, because your blogger voice seems interesting and might promise a lot of fun.

I think I might have to join in, too....

I'm not doing it. Every day but Sunday is way too much for me, especially since Spring Break falls in there at some point. I would be a #ABCFail from the start. But I can't wait to read your brillance, Katie, (on my blogging days). :D

I wish I had the time to do this.....

I'm SO not cool because I'm not doing it, but I admire those who are cool (and are doing it).

Go Katie! I'm still thinking about if i should join the challenge or not, but it sounds fun :)

*giggles* You're always one of the cool kids. The A to Z is a good one though, so worth it all-around.

This sounds like a great challenge (although I don't know if I could keep up!). Good luck and I look forward to reading everyone's A-Z posts!

ah, this should be interesting! I don't blog every day, or I'd check it out... as it is, I'm looking forward to T.H.'s "Ides of March" fest. Yes?

((hug)) :o)

HA! I cannot wait to see what you do! Glad you joined in. I, however, am a big weenie and won't try.

I'm actually putting together my list of topics now so I least have some idea what I'm going blog about. Is that cheating? I don't know.

Tamara Narayan said...

I might try this because I've been having trouble coming up with decent blog topics. I do have a week away from home in the middle of April to contend with. Maybe I can blog in advance. Hmmm . . .
