As some might have noticed, CQG has been MIA. I hadn’t planned on it. But then, who can really plan what will happen when you have a husband and three children on vacation (ie-At home. All of them. With me.)?
And to top it off, I got a call Thursday from my parents and…..its official! They’re coming to visit July 14th and I am ecstatic.
I mean, I’m ecstatic now. -When I got the call it was more like “Oh God. I’m actually gonna have to deep clean my house (you know how mothers are) and figure out a schedule for sightseeing, eating and sleeping arrangements."
- Not to mention we’re going to have to go through with that marriage vow renewal at the church we promised if my parents could make it. (We didn’t have anyone at our first wedding back in 2003. At the time, if we didn’t get married, my husband’s ass woulda been sent back to France. (talk about a lose-lose situation:) We didn’t have time to argue about wedding cake or dress patterns or put it off so that family could fly in. So we just kept it to ourselves. And our mothers still haven’t forgiven us.)
Therefore, my ass is in the vice-like grip of offline life from now until the end of July. Honestly I feel like the kid who has to sit out of dodge ball. Or the post pubescent girl who stays out of the pool cause she’s got her period. It’s been 48 hours and I MISS you guys already!
I’ll still be posting once in a while from now until the end of the month and I’ll try to keep up with my bliziting (blog visiting). But I’m gonna need your help! Basically, my blogging friends, I just gotta know- WHAT HAVE I MISSED?
Any blog posts you’ve come across that have made you laugh, squeal, sit up and take interest? What’s the news? What’s the buzz? Pleeeeaaase tell me- what are your ‘must see’ sites this week?
*sigh*. Thank you, my blogging buddies. It’s going to be a rough couple of weeks. But the good news is August and September are mine! *Mwa ha ha ha*

You gotta do what you gotta do.
We'll be here and eagerly waiting for your return.
I know it's not a blog but perhaps you'll find this webcomic amusing, or at least pertinent:

Sounds like a great time. I hope all of your logistics coordination goes well and that you have a good time.
Sometimes life comes first. I missed Monday. And I haven't been able to visit as many blogs. I read, but I don't have time to comment. Good luck with everything and enjoy your time with family!
I'm seconding Alesa. Got to do what you've got to do. And hey, sometimes it's just what a writer needs: a break. I understand your stress, though. I have three weeks coming up that I'll be incognito. I'm not looking forward to it.
Please, enjoy yourself and don't worry. We shall be here when you return. We'll share tea, other's posts you missed, paint our nails....
don't look at me for missing posts...I feel like I'm barely holding on the last week or so! I just wait for Fridays and let Stina tell me what I missed! hahaha
@salarsenッ: LoL, yeah! We'll do our nails... Can I have mine black? Or gunmetal grey!
Ohhhhhh....I LOVED dodgeball...so I absolutely know what you mean...but family comes first!! Don't worry, we'll keep you in the loop as best we can. :)
We'll miss you but it's understandable. That's pretty cool your parents will get to be there for the vow renewal.
Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you! Yeah, Stina always has her finger on the pulse of things! Sheri and Alesa, make sure to bring cotton candy pink. It's my favorite nail color!;)
Ggiiirrrrllll I know the feeling. I'm feeling under productive despite what I've gotten done. My child has been like glued to my side and I can't concentrate. Does this comment even make sense? Because she's talking right now. AHHH!!!
Whoops... I meant Cotton Candy Pink for Katie, of course! Apologies!
I got carried away by the recurring "C"s!
Sounds like you have a lot of wonderful things going on! Good luck!
You're going to be missed. :( And yes, it is hard taking time off the blogosphere. I went into withdrawals last week, and might have to do it again next week.
But have a great wedding vow renewal ceremony. :D
Holly Guacamole, that's a lot! But honestly, its so romantic and cute that you're going to renew your vows!! And yes, it will be tiresome with the parents there, but it will be totally worth it!
Omg, will you post pictures? Will you dress in white? Ok, wait. Ok, now I got a grip of myself. Have a great time Kd!
Oh yes, and if you want a great website, I heard this one is great: pomadness.blogspot lol
Take the break and have fun. :-) The blogosphere isn't going anywhere.
New follower here! Loved your blog title so I had to pop on over! I feel ya on being out of the loop...my kids' preschool ended and I've been MIA, trying to keep them happy and entertained. Oh well, Sept will be here soon! Looking forward to reading more of your blog!
Have fun with your family. I have, uh, been lazy with my blog reading (read: I have edits) so I have no idea what's going on. I'm trying to catch up too.
You will be seriously missed! But have fun with the fam and all that romantic stuff and your faithful and adoring public will be eagerly awaiting your heroic return to the blogosphere!!!
as far as your mothers never forgiving you for the eloping thing- don't sweat it- honestly if it wasn't that it'd be something else. They always pick something to 'never forgive you' for.
I'm so trying not to do that to my daughter...ever!
Have a wonderful July and fly by wherever you can whenever you can! We'll be all geeked over any CQG sightings we get.
bru
still lovin the thumbs up picture... have fun! And post pix of the renewals. ;p
P.S. Supermom Holly won the contest~
You MOTHER is coming and you are HAPPY about it?! EEK! I guess you DO live on another continent... I hope you have a FABULOUS time. What you've missed from MY perspective is the launch of my Writer's group's multi-author blog:
http://burrowers.blogspot.com/
(hope I did that right... bad at that linky stuff)
Doing your wedding vows is awesome! I hope it's a great time and your house will get super clean in no time (I hate cleaning my house for company, but sometimes it's gotta be done). =)
I know a great blogger.... ME!!! Ha-ha just kidding! It's okay I understand summer is tough!!!
Ugh, totally feeling the dirty house angst. I went through that last week. After a seven hour last minute cleaning-fest, I barely had enough energy to open the door for my brother-in-laws family when the bell rang. Thank goodness my husband cooked dinner or things could have gotten ugly. Second brother-in-law scheduled to arrive in two days. Kitty, stop barfing. Please.
They still haven't forgiven you? Here's to making amends with the vow renewal, cheers!
I can't think of anything earthshaking that you've missed, but I'm a non-earthshaking sort of gal, chilling on my blog, telling animal stories. ;)
OMG, I dread in-law visit because I suck at deep cleaning... Good luck! I'm rooting for you :-)
And, my dear, YOU are missed.
Hope you have a nice visit with your parents. It's hard to keep up with the blogosphere when the kids are out (believe me I know).
I hope you have fun! And it's so sweet that you are going to renew your vows :)
Have fun with your parents. I know what you mean about the deep clean thing. I do that when my parents come out. Or my MIL. Or anyone, really.
I have found a new canadian blogger that I am crazy over. YOu'll lover her...humble, and hilarious.

Been feeling guilty lately for not being active in SITS blog visits and commenting. It's all because I'm badly needed by my daughters outside my comfort zone- my home. So, I'm so lucky I'm back and have to steal time and found you. I like your writing style, especially the subtle humor. Keep it up! Happy SITS Wednesday!
