If I Could Be Anyone, I'd Be...

In celebration of the ekindle book version release of Talli Rolland’s ‘Watching Willow Watts’, today I’m taking part in her websplash costume party!  Deal is we all need to come as the person we’d  always admired, longed to impersonate, or just plain envied’.

Okay, so today I’m coming to her party as... (don’t laugh)...

Emmaline from the Blue Lagoon!

Hey!  Keep yer hands off my coconut bikini:)

Okay, so why Emmaline?  Well, let me think:

1. She’s tan, tall, gorgeous and perpetually 16.

2. She’s trapped on an island paradise.

3. With a major hottie who is madly in love with her.

4. And spends her days lying on the beach, making tropical flower wreathes, and eating seafood.  ( *sigh* I love shellfish dammit!)  She hasn’t the slightest care in the world.

What else could you want? Tell me, who would you be for a day if you could be anyone you want?  And make sure to check out Talli's blog and find out more about her new release!

Ha ha! Shallow but meets the basic necessities of life. Shallow is good sometimes. :) Just add a Kindle stocked with books and I'd be good to go.

LOL. I forgot about that one. Nice.

Hahaha! You know, Blue Lagoon was the first "r" rated movie I ever saw. Love your choice. You made me smile!

Denise Covey said...

Well I see you like Jane Austen so she's my choice for the day. Did you see the version of Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields in it? Wondrous.

I can't believe I've never seen that movie! And look how young Brooke looks in that picture - wow! Great choice - I wouldn't mind eating shellfish and lying on the beach all day. :)

Cat Lavoie said...

Awesome choice! I think Blue Lagoon was my first R-rated movie as well! lol An endless supply of shellfish does sound tempting!

I always wanted to be Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind. I was obsessed with Vivien Leigh... and the big, poofy dresses and the giant Southern plantations with the elaborate staircases, and of course, Rhett Butler.

Sarah Tokeley said...

Well, if you put it like that... :)

Matthew MacNish said...

Eating shrimp all the time would be awesome, but I would probably pass on the hot dude. Unless he did all the fishing.

Kelly Polark said...

Interesting choice! I haven't thought about the Blue Lagoon in a long time!!
Happy shrimp eating! :)

Cherie Reich said...

Great choice and reasons! Although I don't know if I would want to perpetually be 16. :)

I've never seen this movie, putting it on my list to watch right now! What a dreamy existence that would be...

Old Kitty said...

Oh wow!! I remember me and my friends feeling most grown up going to the cinema all by ourselves to watch this cos it was meant to be taboo and very saucy!! LOL!!

Love your choice!! Brilliant!! Take care

This is the third blog this morning participating and I still haven't come up an answer. I'd want to be a mix of several different people.

Wow - interesting and unusual choice with great merit. Although, I'm thinking the coconut bikini might itch a bit!?

Nice to meet you Katie!

Rachel Lyndhurst said...

Trapped in paradise with a hottie and tons of seafood? It's good enough for me! Great choice, Katie!

Sounds like a fabulous person to be and a great life.

I wonder what it would be like making tropical flower wreaths all day long? Fun choice! He is a hotty.

Connie Keller said...

Never saw that movie.

So many choices. But for one day, I'd like to be Thursday Next from the series by Jasper Fforde. I'd love to meet all the characters of the great books "off page."

Sounds good - looks better;-)

Unknown said...

LOL, what a great choice. I do the whole trapped on an island paradise with a major hottie thing too...

LR said...

Oh yes she was very pretty. And look who she got to kiss... Wow.

Nicki Elson said...

Blue Lagoon! Holy cow, I nearly forgot all about this movie. But yes, you made a most excellent choice. :)

What a fun way to promote Talli's book, I'm enjoying the blog costume party going on :)

Tony Van Helsing said...

I like the bit where they get chased around the island by a giant crab. Hang on, that might be a different film.

Jess said...

Good choices! And thanks for stopping by my blog :)

Lori M. Lee said...

I really loved the Blue Lagoon. Great choice! I was devastated in Return to the Blue Lagoon though when they began it by changing the ending of the first film. Still! Beautiful film.

Kathryn Magendie said...

Morning! thank's for stopping by my place.

I laughed when I read your bio - love it :-D

And I adore Talli -- hmmm, who would I want to be ... lawd! George Clooney's girlfriend? Aw, that's so cliched. Dang. Maybe someone who is patient and not self-indulgent like me. Oh! Or maybe a guy so I can sneak around in his brain and find out what is reaaaalllly going on in there! :-D

Carolyn V said...

Great choice! I wish I could sit on the beach all day eating shellfish too. So unfair. ;)

Nicole Zoltack said...

I could definitely go for spending my days on the beach.

Unknown said...

man!you mean we could use fictional character as well? I am so Scarlet O'Hara then. I would get bored on a beach with only one man no matter how hot he is!

Stephanie said...

Fictional person for only one day.....that's tough. Carrie Bradshaw maybe!!

Shannon said...

Fun choice! I like the way you think!

Shain Brown said...

I'm with Matt. The local and food is great, but I'll pass on the dude.

Hart Johnson said...

But she DIES! (erm... sorry, was that a spoiler?) I can definitely see the appeal... if you added birth control anyway... seems a pretty nice life...

Heather said...

You know when you list all the reasons, that's a pretty fantastic choice! You'll have to stop by to see what mine is! ;)

Theresa Milstein said...

I'm excited about Talli's book.

I thought Brooke Shields was so pretty in this movie when I was a kid. Only downside... the surprise pregnancy, birth, and figuring out to nurse. Oh, and the cannibals.

Laura S. said...

AWESOME choice!!! I wanted to be her when I was a teenager, hahaha. I can't remember that boy's name except I think it's something like YUM!

I chose Mulan because she's kickass! Saves her father? Check. Saves her battalion? Check. Banished because she's a woman dressed as a man in the army in order to do all that saving? Check. Doesn't give a darn and saves the entire country anyway? Check!

Meredith said...

Haha, quite the life! Great choice.

Deborah Carr (Debs) said...

I wouldn't mind being her. I've chosen someone very unexciting, looks-wise!

Emily R. King said...

Good choice. I'd want to be her just so I could have run around naked most of my life. No underwear = bliss.

Jennifer Shirk said...

Fun choice!! (But would you beleive I never saw Blue Lagoon)

Jo Schaffer Layton said...

Haha! Awesome! It's like she's on the never-ending honeymoon! Lucky lass!

Lindsay said...

Awesome choice. I'd love to lie around all day in the sun :)

That's a great choice!!! She's gorgeous and I do think I'd like the fringe benefits too :)

OMG You hottie gal. All that sea water and sand and the hunk. I wasn't able to do Talli's party but I would like to be little Orphan Annie. No dummy she. She got Daddy Warbucks, didn't she?

well, you made a good choice there...perfect tan and natural highlights...and hunky lover boy. What more could you want!?

I would choose one of my characters from my own books! :D

Boy, I think you've sold me on Emmaline. Can there be two of them? :)

Michael Di Gesu said...

Now she's one I haven't seen today... You have a valid point for wanting to be her.

Christa Desir said...

I am laughing so hard right now. Brooke Shields??? OMG, the scene where she gets her period!!!

Talli Roland said...

That is a great choice! Not sure about being 16 forever though... *shudder* But I do love the thought of scoffing all the shellfish!

Thanks so much for taking part! I really appreciate it. :) And I'm sorry I'm just making it over here now. I flaked out early last night! xx

Hi Katie - Very nice to meet you, and thanks for following my blog! Don't you absolutely hate the query process? It's worse than looking for a job!

I loved The Blue Lagoon - wonderful choice!

Perfect. That would be just perfect...

There's a lot to be said about being trapped on an island paradise with the necessities available. I wouldn't want to be perpetually 16, but I love the idea of your reasoning, Katie.

My Captain America has a better chest--just another reason I wouldn't want a perpetual *16*, lololol! Thanks for stopping by my blog Katie!

Great choice.

@ Matthew McNish - I'll take the hot boy and hope he does all the fishing anyway :-)

And know that the award from my blog is well deserved. I love your posts.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.

What a great pick! I wouldn't have thought of her. She does have it all.

Carolyn Abiad said...

Lol! I remember watching that without my mother's approval. It was all good until Emmaline stepped on an ugly fish (which I'm afraid of doing to this day) and then part where - you know - she didn't get an epidural. :)

LTM said...

you're not going to believe this... I've never seen the Blue Lagoon!!!

I know!

But you're right. Brooke Shields was a gorgeous girl. Still is. And I can't think of anything greater than lying around on the beach all day eating seafood. LOL! :D

Interesting choice. I haven't seen Blue Lagoon in years. I chose Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, because it is one of my favorite movies.

C D Meetens said...

I've never seen "The Blue Lagoon", but a nice warm island paradise and not a care in the world is certainly tempting :).

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Yes, but what about HIS needs?
Kidding! He only has one.
Fun choice.

Deniz Bevan said...

Heck, the way you describe it, who *wouldn't* want to be her?? I just hope the island has a library...

Sounds good to me! And I love that name :)

Angela Ackerman said...

I don't know that I could settle on just one! I love your choice tho!!

I haven't seen that movie in forever! Thanks for reminding me of it. Excellent choice...:)
